Sara Hanna
Sara is passionate about learning and often finds herself holding a pen, writing a poem, or researching topics she wants to understand deeply. She believes the hardest work anyone does is to develop, explore, and progress in life, because there is always room for improvement. Sara grew up in Athens, Greece and moved to Canada in 2013. She speaks Greek, English, Assyrian, and Arabic and is learning French. Sara is a third year student at King’s University College, pursuing a Bachelor in Social Work (Honours), with a minor in Criminology. Her goal is to earn a PhD, work with the United Nations and become a professor.
Sara teaches Greek as an international language instructor for the London District Catholic School Board. Her enthusiasm for language, teaching and inspiring students sets her apart. She also serves as Assistant Director of the London Interfaith Peace Camp, a collaborative community project that encourages understanding and cooperation among Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faith groups. Sara is passionate about volunteering and helping people in need. She volunteers for Development and Peace-Caritas Canada and tries to understand and address world issues that hinder people from being healthy.
