At the Municipality of North Middlesex, we are building on our agricultural roots to grow as a vibrant, innovative, and inclusive community. In keeping with this vision, we took time as a community and municipal corporation to develop our new strategic plan. This plan is our roadmap to the future we want to build for ourselves and for our children’s children.

Platinum Leadership was delighted to help North Middlesex identify its long-term goals and the strategies that will help them bring these goals to life. In the next ten years, North Middlesex will grow in innovation by focusing on five key priorities: Leadership, Engagement, Planning, Sustainability, and Prosperity.

North Middlesex Leads: Leaders make a difference. At North Middlesex, we strive for our citizens, Municipal Council and staff to be active partners in leading our community. We are working hard to develop a culture of excellence where staff are engaged and have what they need to serve the public well. Because we lead with excellence, our citizens will have access to high quality public services and will be confident their Municipal leadership is committed to doing its best for North Middlesex.

North Middlesex Engages: Relationships are key. This strategic priority is about ‘connecting in and connecting out’ so that the citizens, businesses, community groups, Council and staff of North Middlesex actively engage with one another. Engagement initiatives build relationships so that we do not simply live in our community, but embody the heart and soul of what it means to be North Middlesex.

North Middlesex Plans: North Middlesex is a strong agricultural community with many opportunities for residential, commercial and industrial growth. We have a beautiful natural environment and are ideally located. As North Middlesex grows and expands, we want to leverage our strengths to develop public services that enhance the quality of life and business for all of our people.

North Middlesex Sustains: North Middlesex is committed to the wellbeing of its citizens, to cultural and community renewal, and to sustainable living. These commitments are grounded in a belief in the dignity of each person and the importance of caring for the resources entrusted to us. The priority of sustainability is more than finances and natural resources. It is our commitment and accountability to future generations, to secure, grow and steward North Middlesex in ways that cultivate an active, healthy and liveable community.

Middlesex Prospers: North Middlesex is a good place to do business. Working with our Economic Development Plan, we will build on our foundation as an agriculture and agribusiness community to expand our economic base and solidify and diversity our financial resources. Because we focus on economic diversity, innovation and prosperity, North Middlesex will develop more local businesses, jobs and abundance for all.

This new strategic plan is a strong road map to guide North Middlesex in becoming a stronger and more vibrant community.
